My experience as an Allied Health Assistant began with completing my Certificate I, II, and III in Allied Health over a two-year period. During this time, I completed practical placement in an aged care facility, where I worked closely with elderly residents in a nursing home. I thoroughly enjoyed supporting the residents and assisting wherever I could, which strengthened my passion for helping others.
After completing my studies, I chose to continue working in hospitality, where I gained experience in barista and waitressing roles. I enjoyed interacting with people, building strong relationships with regular customers, and making a positive difference in their day through friendly and professional service.
I have always had a strong interest in Occupational Therapy, so when I was given the opportunity to work as an Allied Health Assistant alongside an Occupational Therapist, I was incredibly excited. Since starting in this role, I have learnt so much and continue to grow both personally and professionally. Working in this position has been the most rewarding experience of my career, and I have never felt more fulfilled than I do being part of such a supportive and welcoming team.
What are your hobbies?
My hobbies include spending quality time with my family, partner, and dog, as well as playing and watching sports. I enjoy travelling, exploring new places, and spending time outdoors, particularly camping. I also enjoy learning new skills and trying new activities, as I value opportunities for personal growth and new experiences.
If you could have any superpower, but only use it once a year, what would you choose?
If I could choose one superpower to use only once a year, I would choose the ability to make everyone's greatest wish come true. I would choose this because I want people to experience genuine happiness, and being able to give them something that means so much to them would be incredibly rewarding.
